The emotion melancholy in our today's fun and consumer society is often wrongly identified with stagnating, pessimism, not being efficient, or with depression and therefore less acknowledged and tolerated. I think as a bridge to the transcendent, as a breeding ground for creativity and empathy melancholy should be an integral part of our lives. The emotion is precisely through it´s contemplative part a desirable state, because fear , sadness and doubt are solving a sense of self-reflection. The melancholy being questiones and doubts fixed things .
Through my visual work I try to create a catchy access to the so often denied feeling and to show that being melancholic does not exclude joy and humor .
