Þetta reddast is an illustration I designed for Hyggekrog, a brand specializes in crafting exquisite candles and home decor accessories inspired by the Scandinavian philosophy.
For their limited edition Christmas collection, I created an illustrated pattern specifically designed to enhance the packaging and fragrances of their soy wax candles.
Hyggekrog associated the Icelandic word Þetta reddast, which translates to "everything will work out in the end," with the candle.
Drawing inspiration from this enchanting word, I designed an illustration that conveys serenity, sweetness, and the warmth of the holiday season.
Here's the process I follow when working on a pattern:
The first step is the sketch phase, during which I define the elements that will be present in the composition, the color palette and the style, according to client's need.
Once all the sketches have been approved, I finalize the designs by creating the final compositions and forming the repeatable pattern.
The finalization of the repeatable pattern is a crucial aspect of my process.
I meticulously ensure that the design seamlessly repeats, creating a visually continuous and consistent pattern when tiled. This phase requires precision to maintain the integrity of the composition and an overall visual balance of the elements.
