In this assignment we had to pick an ordinary personal item that we use daily. We then had to design an Instagram story ad of our choice showing the item in either a positive, negative, or metaphorical way.
How I Created It...
First I made a mindmap to organize all my thoughts on paper
Than came up with potential slogans for my product
Then did my Thumbnails for the assignment before I started creating my finals
First I created all my main images in photoshop before putting them into Illustrator to vectorize them and add type.
FINALS
For my positive add I wanted to connect music and relaxation. One of the most positive things about music is that it can calm most people so I wanted to get that point across.
For my negative I wanted to emphasis the fact that everyone hates when the speaker dies and you just have to sit there in awkward silence. My goal was to hit that soft spot and make people remember how uncomfortable that is.
For my metaphorical everyone is always losing there speaker and forgetting where they put it. So to connect it to something I tried to mimic the movie cover of Where'd You Go, Bernadette.
Lastly, here are some mockups of what this might look like advertised as ads or on social media platforms.
