I invented a new form of decay – Nacretrophy.

It's a symbiotic process between fruits and ureolytic bacteria. The bacteria utilize calcium carbonate-dense pluvial water to form clusters of pearl excrescences on the pulp of the pear. In some instances where the calcium carbonate saturated water becomes trapped in the seed around which the fruit forms, it can lead to the formation of a single, nacre monolith – the pearly fruit.
