Roots En Route

#migrationstories
Workshop with Michel Bouvet, 2014, May 12-15

This series is composed by two posters entitled Roots en Route.
At the base there's the idea that any migrant always brings with him his own cultural baggage, which we visually represented with roots.

From here is born the metaphor between animal and human world: in the nature the animals often migrate from one place to another in search of better living conditions or to the species survival; migrate expose them to many dangers, including predation, bad weather, the possibility of not being able to find the food consistently. As "actors" we chose a swallow (species that migrate from colder countries to warmer countries) and a salmon (species that dates back rivers current to go to spawn and then reproduce)
Every migrant brings with him his own origins, experiences and necessity…
we represented it in this way!

Thanks for watching!
