Graphic Design Contest for the Municipal School of Art and Design of Terrassa

This project is born from a graphic design contest in the recent collaboration of my study center; the Municipal School of Art and Design of Terrassa and the Chamber of Commerce of Terrassa. The objective is to design a Christmas card for the Chamber in printed and animated support, this second with the requirement to use Adobe After Effects. The concepts to be developed were entrepreneurship and emerging companies (startups).

Aquest projecte neix d'un concurs de disseny gràfic en la col·laboració recent del meu centre d'estudis; l'Escola Municipal d'Art i Disseny de Terrassa i la Cambra de Comerç de Terrassa. L'objectiu és dissenyar una Nadala per a la Cambra en suport imprès i animat, aquest segon amb el requisit d'emprar Adobe After Effects. Els conceptes a desenvolupar van ser la emprenedoria i les empreses emergents (startups).

My inspiration was the graphic designer Javier Jaén, not only to admire his work, but because of how he sees design. In fact, I have been listening to his interviews for a long time and analyzing his work I find it fantastic to convey an idea with an everyday image of any object. This way of communicating could be defined as visual poetry. Appropriating an object that already communicates on its own, and making it, together with the grace of the public's perception, manage to get the message to us in a clear way and without unnecessary stimulation.

La meva inspiració va ser el dissenyador gràfic Javier Jaén, no tan sols per admirar el seu treball, sinó per com veu el disseny. De fet, fa temps que escolto entrevistes seves i analitzant el seu treball em sembla fantàstic transmetre una idea amb una imatge quotidiana d'un objecte qualsevol. Aquesta manera de comunicar, podria definir-se com la poesia visual. Apropiar-te d'un objecte que per si sol, ja comunica, i fer que en conjunt amb la gràcia de la percepció del públic, aconsegueixi fer-nos arribar el missatge d'una manera clara i sense estímul innecessari.

With an energetic stroke, with passion, computers are activated that rise like companies. Once they reach where they want to form the tree, they open to make way as the discreet staple clones itself and adds the touch of magic to the final shape of the Christmas Tree.

Per què el claim d'OBRIM PAS ALS TEUS SOMNIS?
El Nadal és màgic, però només si t'omples d'empenta i ganes d'anar endavant en els teus somins. La Cambra de Comerç de Terrassa fa aquesta funció, ajuda a potenciar les empreses per crèixer i assolir els seus objectius, que en aquest cas són somnis, i són ells qui t'obriran pas.
El vincle amb l'animació
Amb un cop enèrgic, amb passió, s'activen els ordinadors que pujant com les empreses. Un cop arriben on volen formar l'arbre, s'obren per obrir pas mentres que la discreta grapa, es clona i dona el toc de màgia a la forma final de l'Arbre de Nadal.

This design has had the honor of being the winner of the Christmas Card Contest for the Chamber. The classmates have done a really exceptional job, so I didn't have them all. What he was aware of was having done work that, before becoming aesthetically attractive, communicated the message, had good visual balance and escaped the overstimulation we are subjected to today due to the excess of information.

Aquest disseny ha tingut l'honor de ser el guanyador del Concurs de la Nadala per a la Cambra. Les companyes i companys han fet una feina realment excepcional, per la qual cosa no les tenia totes. Del que si era conscient, és d'haver fet una feina que abans d'arribar a ser estèticament atractiva, comunicava el missatge, tenia bon equilibri visual i fuig del sobreestimul al que estem sotmesos avui dia per l'excés d'informació.
