This is a project carried out for MAUA (an open-air museum that utilizes astonishing street art pieces among the neighborhoods of Milan, Turin, Chieri, Palermo, and Waterford). The project involves taking a mural and creating a representative augmented reality animation on top of it. The artwork is displayed in Brescia (Via Cerca, 30, 25135 Brescia BS, Italy), where, through the Bepart application, users can scan the pillars and launch the corresponding animation.

For this project, maya was used to create the animated and optimized model. Subsequently, we transitioned to Unity for motion tracking on the artwork and to generate the APK to be projected onto the pillar.

The decoration of the pillar, a work designed and skillfully executed by students of the Accademia Santa Giulia for the Link – Urban Art Festival 2017, comes to life under the careful supervision of the professor and artist Luca Dall'Olio.

Through an intense fusion of simple forms and symbols, the artwork reveals the presence of two imposing human figures, engaged in eternal reciprocal dialogue through the game of telephone with cans, an ancient childhood ritual transcending time. This amalgamation of images strongly evokes the essential connection between man and technology, stirring the effervescence of the playful dimension inherent in human beings.

The essential lines of the artwork, traced with precision and delicacy, unfold in black, giving the representation an inherent simplicity. The two figures, skillful players in a visual ballet, converse on either side of the pillar, narrating the complex dynamics that unfold between man and technology, prompting a profound reflection on the importance of finding a harmonious balance between these two dimensions.

The artwork aims to illustrate how communication that often takes place from a distance actually brings us closer together. Through the connection of the cups and the creation of the thread that links them, it precisely represents the warmth provided by communication.

In the augmented reality animation, viewers will witness the cups coming together, and a thread forming between them to symbolize the closeness fostered by communication. This visual representation captures the essence of connection and warmth that transcends physical distance, emphasizing the impact of communication in bringing people closer despite being apart.
