Blender SintLucas

As a part of our course here at SintLucas, we had to take a few lessons of Blender. In total, we had to make 5 objects, all of them teaching new things or improving your skills at the basics.

The first of the objects was a barrel. I got the shape correctly, but during the process in Sketchfab I realised I needed more materials, so that the iron parts where actually iron. I got a handle on the basics, and things went quite smoothly at this stage.
The second object was an archway. Here I struggled a lot, mostly about how the archway worked and how it had to be made. I tried to paste on a texture, but that failed due to the weird shapes. During the process of making this I used more of the same techniques of the barrel and got more of a grasp of the basics.
The third of the objects was a chest. I took some inspiration from Dark Souls and tried to make a mimic. Due to my lack of experience I had to make the tongue out of blocks, making it a bit squared. For the arms, I used a pre-existing model and posed them. I learned how to import assets into Blender and that posing limbs is harder than it looks.
The next object was a table and a lamp. This object I am not entirely proud of, as it is kinda lazily made. I used more of the pre-existing parts. It does have a cleaner wireframe, because I didn't have to move the parts I used in weird ways. At this stage I learned more about Sketchfab than Blender, like how to use the lights more effectively.
And last but not least, I made a plant using texture maps. The Venus Flytraps caused me slight problems due to my mess of files. I am satisfied with the results, however.
Blender was rather tough to pick up, but when I got into it, the program wasn't as hard as I thought. I am very new to 3D programs in general, so this was an intimidating step to take. The assignments we got, however, went smoother than I expected. Except for a few gaps in my knowledge, I managed to figure out a lot by myself.
I am mostly proud of my works. The table is the only one I am iffy on, all the others I am happy with.
I am very excited to try and experiment more.
