Esse projeto consiste no redesign de capa do livro "A Empregada" de Freida McFadden. Para isso pensei em criar uma ilustração que comunicasse a essência e o clima da história com a intenção de chamar a atenção do público-alvo: leitores de livros de suspense.

This project is the a cover redesign of the book "The Housemaid" by Freida McFadden. To this end, I wanted to create an illustration which communicated the essence and tone of the story so that it grabbed the attention of the target audience: thriller books readers.

Meu processo de pensamento para a arte de capa foi ilustrar o local onde se desenrola os conflitos principais do livro. Por isso, desenhei a casa onde mora a família que a protagonista começa a trabalhar como empregada. Segui as descrições do livro sobre a estrutura da casa, mas decidi dar um aspecto sombrio e sem vida a ela para transparecer a disfunção da família que a reside. Na ilustração, todas as janelas estão escuras, exibindo uma casa "apagada", exceto a pequena janela do porão, onde dorme a empregada e onde o grande conflito do livro acontece.
My thought process for the cover art was to illustrate the place where the main plot of the book occurs. Therefore, I drew the home of the family which hires the protagonist to work as a housemaid. I followed the book descriptions of the house's structure but decided to add a sinister and lifeless aspect to it to unmask the disfunction of the family who lives inside it. In the illustration all the windows reveal little light except for the one at the attic, where the maid sleeps and the main conflict of the story takes place.
