Collection Website

Being a sneaker-head is a character trait passed down to me by my father, the first in his family after moving to America to attend and graduate from College, and it's an addiction that we both have to keep under control. Having the ability to find beauty and creativity in most shoes, to then style them with the most fire fits, only to clean them obsessively and place them back in the shiny box they came in in order to keep them clean, is a process I repeat all too often.

This is why I wanted this collection website to showcase some of the most creative sneaker collaborations that showcase the excellent craftsmanship of the shoe company Reebok, and other companies like Jelly Belly and Tom and Jerry who assist them in bringing their creations to life.
APPROACH

After choosing my collection, I gathered images and text that I wanted to include in the website and set that to the side so that I could create a couple of rough wireframes on pen and paper showcasing the outline of my wireframe.

Next, I took the physical wireframes and brought them into Figma and after playing around with each and placing images in the wireframes, I then chose which one I thought would be best. Then I continued to place all the information and added some flare in the form of color, logos, and interactions.
Overall, I created a visually engaging project, and it was enjoyable to make. However, I don't think that I managed to achieve the ideas that I had for the user interactions for my website. What I mean by that is I wanted there to be a function where while the user was scrolling, one of the characters on the screen would move or something with happen that attracts the user and makes them want to interact with them.

Due to my relationship with Figma, I wasn't able to achieve that, and I don't believe the solution that I came up with does my website justice. If I were to revisit this project, that would be the one thing I would change.
This was how my website operated originally, with the text bubble popping up once the user dragged their mouse over the title of the collection.
This was the final version of my website and the solution I was able to come to.
