About the Project
MORI, a small Graz-based carpenter studio, hosts concerts every now and then. It was my pleasure to design the poster for the fifth one.
The fish-illustration is a reference to the name of the quartet – Cross(str)sings – and MORI (which means 'wood' in Japanese):
Why not letting a fish visit the woods? (The logo and fonts were provided by the client.)
The horizontal lines in the illustration, which are still residues from the original paper, also play with the concept of crossings. So does the fact of putting a crown onto a fish.
The monochromatic prussian blue design on ebony-coloured paper appears quite elegant and classic, which perfectly matches the beautiful concert of four stringed bowed instruments.
The screen printing process (which was completed at Traumwerk in Graz) was very cautious and special to me, which is why I really treasure this series of 23 prints.
