In the desert, I had only one enemy
The sun at its highest point
The tyranny of this mass energy
I could only escape
Escape its beams, escape its warmth
Find shelter until its fall
However at the end of the day,
As I managed to emerge
Haze of sand had fluttered
And turned red by a last gleam
There I stood, marvelling at the scene
And feeling I longed for more
Now when the sand burns,
I don’t hide in the darkness
I capture the light and it’s reflections
I care to grasp the essence of its beauty
