The bauxite quarry is one of the most extraordinary places in Puglia. This is an area of great environmental interest located next to the famous beaches of Salento, which represent one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area.

This is a disused quarry, the buxite was used for the production of aluminum but its extraction is completed in 1976. So nature has taken over again to a place that had suffered an impact of human intervention. It formed an emerald green lake for the infiltration of water from groundwater in the area the color of the water creates a fascinating contrast with the rock around that glow a deep red.

The landscape is surrounded by vegetation with its bright green creates a wonderful place, to visit at least once in their lifetime.
