Design Strategy

Plugged In is an article that investigates the role of digital escapism in our society by exploring its roots, in the shape of dreams, its effect on philosophy and modern pop culture. It encourages readers not to wallow in their guilt after participating in digital escapism, but rather find a balance.

Since the concept deals with the cyber space and real life, the cover is a visual represntation of these worlds colliding. The hand is mostly blurred behind a "sheet", representing the human submergence into the digital sphere. The background's vibrancy emphasises the digital realm, complimented by the crafted glitchy typeface. Each letter in the title glitches progressively worse as way to further embody the process of digital escapism
