Objective:
To make a paint brand engage with it customers and deliver realistic, practical results through an online activity, resulting in brand recall
Insight:
When people think of painting their homes, colours is usually a decision that they like to mull over. They take their time, consult family members about their choice, and even look around for inspiration. Sometimes, they come across certain shades that they would like to put up on their walls. We wanted them to act on their impulses, click a pick of that shade and give them exactly what they wanted!
Solution:
An app was created where users could click pictures of anything they see around them - any object which has the colour they like on it. Once uploaded, the app selects the closest Nerolac shades to one in the image, and presents a family of hues to the user. They can create palletes of the same, templates related to certain themes etc. The palettes can be saved, or shared on social networks.
Results:
The app received an overwhelming response, and out of the 541,472 website hits, 45,443 were for the colour picker app. Users spent an average of about a minute on this app.
