MD200-3 | 'Praise' Visualisation Music Video
This abstract visualisation music video is made using found footage, Maxon One and Adobe After Effects. In MD200-3 we are required to visualise a piece of music or promote an artist / band through abstract animation and motion techniques of minimum 40 seconds. Experimentation was strongly encouraged in the area of generative animation techniques and effects thus I experimented with Saber Plug-in, Maxon One's Trapcode TOA and Particular plug-ins, as well as repeating and audio synching functions.

Praise by Elevation Worship feat. Brandon Lake, Chris Brown & Chandler Moore is a current favourite song to listen to in the morning thus I chose it as my song to visualise. The neon circels and numbers in the first scenes are generated using Saber plug-in. The grid and repeating circular patterns act as an overlay on the TOA genreated tunnel and move to the beat of the song, at first it was done using the waveforms in Adobe Audion to get the timestamps but later done using Maxon One's plugins. The floating particles are animated and generated using Trapcode Particular in After Effects. All compositing is done in After Effects.
Takeaways
Plugins, especially paid ones, are great to use and save a lot of time but can become costly. I have also learned in this process that my strength does not lie in audio editing as I struggle to hear and conceptualise beats and working to a audio track. I hope to improve on it on future projects.
