Diwali is the Indian festival of lights, celebrating the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. I know it as the day we knock on the doors of relatives and neighbours, even the ones that quarrel with you over parking space, to hand out gifts. Youtube Music invited me to develop a vibrant and festive visual language for their Diwali Featured Playlist covers. I modelled gift wrapping paper clad festive objects, floral arrangements, lights, diyas and ofcourse, piles of neatly stacked sweets gracing our tables and tummies throughout Diwali celebrations. The illustrations made it to 15 individual playlist covers on the Youtube Music platform. Art Direction by the wonderful Gabriela Namie.
