It was the summer of 2023 and I was browsing Upworks for available commissions (I was going stir-crazy). 

I saw an ad for a punk and hip-hop crossover band that wanted cover art for their upcoming EP. Being that I am interested in working in the music scene/industry and am a musician myself, I instantly submitted a proposal and within hours, Eating Venus had responded.

They wanted a Junji Ito meets old school, "punk fiction" inspired piece. They knew exactly what they wanted already and did a rough doodle of the cover so I all I did was mastered remake of the picture they sent. Love clients like that. In this project, I fully leaned into my sketching abilities and utilized Adobe Illustrator's vectorizing software. Handwriting and art are all mine. The icing on the cake was adding textures on Photoshop.
