We've all heard and read a lot about the women who have become part of history with their acts of patriotism and heroism.
However, how often do we hear about women contributing to a more compassionate society, human equality, or significant scientific discoveries?
How much do we know about the women who remained in the shadows?
In the following twelve pages, we will tell you the stories of twelve incredible and powerful women, not so well known but equally significant, each with a unique contribution to Bulgarian society. We're talking about inspirational, powerful heroes who have shed light on our history without our suspicion. From women's rights activists and pioneers of racial equality to inventors, scientists, and leaders, there are plenty of women throughout history women who have done this meaningful thing. For inspiration that'll drive you to make your own mark on the world, find inspiration in just some of the many women who shifted our culture in meaningful ways.
For 2024, we aimed to create a calendar representing the strength, intelligence and resilience of the Bulgarian woman. A unique personality represents each month.
The design of each sheet is a combination of a hand-drawn portrait, typography with a relevant, unique signature and a description of the achievements of each of the women (Mixed media art).
We chose the approach of mixed media art because it is different, distinguishable and can be differentiated into distinct types.
