"Chuyen Di Cu Cua En" (Migrating Swallows) was made possible by the generous donors of Room To Read and is dedicated to the children of Vietnam so that the joy of reading may enrich their lives. I'm so honored to be a part of this project.
These are some parts of my progress in illustrating this book by the author Nguyen Thuy Duong. Please enjoy it!
Firstly, I do some sketches for the main character and experiment with different color styles. At this phase, I discuss back and forth with the editor to decide which one can truly express the vibe of the story.
The final step of the sketching phase is creating a demo that can be used to apply for the whole book.
These are spread sketches of the whole book with some references to the mood & tone.
Following the demo we created before, I continue to work on other pages.
