“A print for the love of the part of day we call the night,
and the rhythm and motion that we measure in the unit time.”
Artist statement
I love the night. I always felt it had a special rhythm. A seductive, vibrant and pulsating creative energy. Endlessly deep and multidimensional, full of opportunities and hidden promises to uncover. Recurrent and familiar, yet every time appearing in a slightly new ever-changing shape. A big black, blank canvas where anything could, would and will happen.
The process
Using metal dust paint silk screened onto paper a rusty print has been created through corrosion. Experimenting with different types of water and salt solutions, and using metal and non metal objects to enhance and alter the process each print over time has got its own very unique look.
The print is part inspired by Allan Watts writings about time and motion, and part rhythm during the 24hour cycle of the day and night at Berlin clubs.
