PERSONAL WORK, OCTOBER 2023

October was a month full of beautiful experiments, and so today I am really happy to share with you these two artworks I did and also talk about some of the goals I've put in front of me this month and how I was able to achieve them.

GOALS:

- to create a detailed, yet easily readable piece of art.
why?
- we often get overwhelmed by the detailed designs but at the same time I feel like details can be a great storytelling instrument if used correctly.
how did you achieve that?
- I would say that my ultimate technique is to start with big bald shapes and after making the foundation to start rendering areas with more and more details while still keeping the overall composition in place.

- to make a high quality finished artwork while still not being scared of making it experimental.
what does that mean?
- me, as many other artist, sometimes are locked in our own style, which makes it hard to make weird and experimental art and not leaving it on a "sketch" stage, and so what I tried to do is to make a finished, well, polished artwork while still being open minded about the concepts and ideas.
how?
- by basically isolating my mind from "social media way of thinking", I would say that it is 90% of how to actually come up with something new and original.

- to tell a story without literally telling a story.
uh?
- i wanted to make a character that by looking at you would feel as if it was a whole environments, means that the look of the character would instantly give you an idea of their aesthetic and vibe.
tell me more..?
- as I always say you can look at the character creation as if you would look at the environment creation: you need leading lines, landscape variety, details, colors and so on, if you think about it then it totally makes sense, so just try it!
