I designed and developed the main game system. Initially, three areas are activated to receive plants, one of each color. Once the initial three are used, three new areas are randomly activated. Each player earns points for delivering plants to the correct areas, with the number of points received depending on the value of the plant's color at that specific moment.
To ensure the game functions correctly, I had to coordinate with my teammates regarding the functionality that allows players to pick up and release plants to earn points. Additionally, I worked on changing the materials of the areas to make them appear active and synchronized the points and time system of the scripts to be displayed in the UI.
The game design aims to provide a unique PvP experience, drawing inspiration from games like Overcooked and free retro PvP games for PC. We followed the problem-game design methodology to create this game. Our primary goal was to develop a fast and strategic game with the feel of Overcooked but simplified and quicker. This is achieved by requiring players to make rapid decisions on which plant to take based on the points each one offers and their relative position, as well as that of the opponent in relation to the delivery zone. This compels players to think and act swiftly to achieve victory.
