Midnight Run - Short film

This short film was made for the academic discipline of Narrativa Multimedia during the second year for the Professional Photography Course in Instituto Português da Fotografia. Considered the best short film of the year on IPF.

The inspiration behind creating this short film was the classic masterpiece Need for Speed Underground video game trailer.

(Remember that Mitsubishi Eclipse getting pumped up and all shinny through the tunnel before facing the yellow Supra? Yes, that's the trailer I was talking about!)

As soon as this task was assigned, it rushed the need to pay homage to a gaming classic that continues to captivate the hearts of countless players worldwide. This legendary title has been a cultural touchstone, influencing not just gaming but also the way we perceive urban car culture. As we delve into the world of virtual racing, we discover a parallel universe where street racing, car modification, and the pursuit of speed serve as a testament to the thrill-seeking spirit within us all.
From this point, creating the moodboard was easy. I started drawing a few sketches of scenes and cinematic plans and as the night came by, we let our inner street racers come to life. It was a thrill to shoot something like this with the wifey behind the wheel.

The music you ear along the film is the eternal classic Two-Lane Blacktop from Rob Zombie.
