La cuarentena en España se prolongó durante 8 largos meses, y yo pasé ese tiempo completamente sola en un apartamento en la ciudad.
"Estas pinturas se concibieron como cuadros-ventana, como una mirada hacia un mundo exterior distante. La necesidad de interacción no solo con otras personas, sino también con el mundo exterior, me llevó a la necesidad de un action painting. Usé los balones como pinceles, marcando canasta, punto y gol sobre las pinturas. Era también una manera de descargar energía contenida. "Darle un buen balonazo" a una pintura en la que había estado trabajando durante mucho tiempo, y que me devolvía la pelota. Pero ese límite de dimensión espacial quedaba marcado por el rastro de pintura del balonazo. El balón no traspasaba el cuadro ventana. ¿Representación vs objetualización?.
El juego ocupa un lugar fundamental en mi trabajo. No puedo concebir la creación y producción de mis obras sin jugar a un juego serio que me permita experimentar y descubrir. "Salir al campo" resultó ser una experiencia liberadora después de estar confinada durante 8 meses, a lo que se sumaron otros 2 años de restricciones sociales."

In Spanish, "salir al campo" can be interpreted in two distinct ways: as an immersion in nature, an escape to the outdoors, or as an foray onto the playing field to participate in a sports match, such as soccer, for example.
The conception of this project arose in the midst of the State of Alarm due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Quarantine in Spain lasted for 8 long months, and I spent that time completely alone in an apartment, within the quiet confines of the city.

The need for interaction, not only with other people but also with the external world, led me to explore the realm of action painting. I used soccer balls as brushes, marking baskets, points, and goals onto the canvases. It was also a way to release pent-up energy, to 'kick the ball' at a painting I had been working on for a long time, and have it bounce back. However, the spatial dimension's boundary was defined by the trail of paint left by the ball's impact. The ball never crossed the canvas window. Representation versus objectification?
