La Universitat de València, junto a la Universitat Politècnica de València y la Delegación del CSIC en la Comunitat Valenciana pusieron en marcha un proyecto sobre la huerta de Valencia y contaron con Menta para el diseño del mismo.
Para el desarrollo gráfico y editorial del libro recurrimos a un diseño claro y de aspecto austero, honesto en forma, sin artificios decorativos acorde así con el espíritu de L’Horta valenciana, e intentando optimizar el proceso de impresión para contar con la menor cantidad de tintas posibles en la edición. Los textos del libro ensalzan l’horta como espacio natural y social, núcleo central a partir del cual se articula el compromiso de contribuir a la calidad de vida del territorio, utilizando los recursos más destacados de las 3 instituciones participantes en el proyecto. El proyecto fue coordinado por Maria Josep Picó Garcés y Magda Ruiz Brox, la edición gráfica fue dirigida por Tania Castro y Miguel Lorenzo y del diseño nos encargamos Estudio Menta.
For this book we tried to make a honest, clear and austere design without decorative artifices so as the spirit of L’Horta of Valencia is. We also tried to optimize the printing process to have the least amount of inks as possible. We have designed this book for the University of Valencia, the Universitat Politècnica de València and the CSIC Office in Valencia within the VLC/Campus (Valencia International Campus of Excellence).
The book praises the Valencian ‘horta’ (orchard), the natural and social epicentre from which a commitment to contribute to the territory quality of life is articulated using the most important resources of the three institutions which were involved in this study. The project was coordinated by Maria Josep Picó Garcés and Magda Ruiz Brox, designed by Estudio Menta whilst its graphic editing was directed by Tania Castro and Miguel Lorenzo.
