I used 3 patterns in particular to represent the play:
1. Asanoha (on the red kimono) : represents hemp leaves - an hardy plant, able to grow fast and straight without requiring much care
2. Seigaha (the waves on the blue kimono jacket) : the name signifies "waves of the blue sea" , symbolizes peaceful sea and quiet strength
3. Yabane / Yagasuri (hidden by the flowers on the obi): represents the bird feathers attached to the tips of arrows - A shot arrow never returns, so kimono with this pattern were given to young brides, who are not supposed to return to their parents once they are married. This is the most important pattern given the theme of the story.
