\\ DARTFORD TOWN CENTRE
The first phases of this multi-million-pound transformation of Dartford town centre have been completed and it is one of the most exciting projects currently underway in the region. The transformation includes several areas for which Project Centre has provided landscape and public realm design.
Over time, Joao's role has evolved from landscape/public realm lead to an overseeing director position. This includes directing the landscape and public realm improvements to several public spaces.
Joao (T•Placemaking) was the lead designer of the new Brewery Square, the renovation of the hard landscape within the War Memorial Garden and the surroundings of the Holy Trinity Church (a grade-I listed building). Joao also directed the public realm design for the High Street, One Bell Corner (which hosts the new Rolling Stones statues), Hythe Street and Spital Street. His work involved extensive coordination with the client throughout the years as well as other disciplines such as engineering and lighting.
