Cartoon Network | Branding

The Cartoon Network logo has evolved over time, but it has always retained its core elements of simplicity, boldness, and fun.
The original Cartoon Network logo was designed in 1992 by Corey McPherson Nash. It featured a black-and-white checkerboard background with the words "Cartoon" and "Network" stacked on top of each other in a thick, sans-serif font. The logo was instantly recognizable and became a symbol of high-quality animation content.
The evolution of the Cartoon Network logo reflects the evolution of the network itself. In its early years, Cartoon Network was focused on classic cartoons from the Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera libraries. However, over time, the network has expanded its programming and makes it own originals through Cartoon Network Studios. This new Cartoon Network logo reflects this shift in programming, with its more modern and forward-looking design.
This new Cartoon Network logo I have designed remains true to its core values of simplicity, boldness, and fun. The logo is instantly recognizable and retains some of the old design elements, but is a new breath of fresh air from the past.
The design system for the logo includes many different ways to show and display the logo as a way to keep it flexible for different animations and remain timeless.
Credit is due where it is needed!
Gimmick Studio created the 2022 rebrand for Cartoon Network. Inspiration was used for this personal project. But many tweaks and changes were made to account for the new system, older characters, and other smaller changes.
