The Vespa tour of Sicily in two weeks in August is the trip conceived, organised, developed and completed by Irene Martinelli and John Blond, two professional designers and hobby adventurers. Around May 2023, Irene and John decided to go on holiday together, the destination: Sicily.
The two had in mind to visit the entire island, doing a complete tour of the entire coast, in two weeks, having the city of Catania as their starting and ending point.

The peculiarity of the trip lies in the means of transport chosen, a 1981 Piaggio Vespa.
Such a unique journey deserved to be told and made special. For this reason the designers decided to create a brand identity, transforming this adventure into a real visual project. They also reported all the stages in real time on their social profiles, just like a mini TV series.
The visual identity is inspired by the famous movie "Overwhelmed by an unusual destiny in the blue sea of August" written and directed by Lina Wertmüller, with Giancarlo Giannini and Mariangela Melato, and is inspired by the pop aesthetics of the 80s, to pay homage to the Vespa, the protagonist of this journey.
