The Bird & The Bear
A new identity, for me and my work.
Sudden changes in life can be disorientating. However, they are often an opportunity to see through a fresh lens and to gain some perspective. This makes the journey ahead a little clearer, a sight aside from dreams and smoke that are accumulated over time and force us to wander away from what is real.
TB&TB is an affirmation of self. It's me re-skinning myself in a manner that I wish to be perceived; down to earth, focused on the facts and forward thinking in nature. Too often in previous identities I was swayed by what I thought might be popular, instead of what I wanted to be, and how I wished to promote myself. Gradients, block text, intricate emblems are all well and grand, but they only represent what I have admired instead of who I am.
The identity is somewhat classic in nature, and a colour palette I'm new to using but feel comfortable with.
Flat colours, tall type and a logo that plays on negative space allow it to be applied in any means and tailored to suit specific styles if ever needed. Certainly the badge/icon itself can be re-rendered through a hundred different styles, patters and effects and still be recognisable.
I'm satisfied with the outcome and it's a refreshing first step down a new road in my life.
