Heraldry represents a deeply personal endeavor initiated by Michael Tavilla, who serves as both the Creative Director and Founder. This project stands as a heartfelt tribute to the rich tapestry of visual identities throughout history, as well as an homage to his family's heritage. It played a pivotal role in shaping his journey as a graphic designer, offering him valuable insights into his family's roots and origins. Heraldry serves as the foundation for modern visual identities. Its origins trace back to ancient Greece, where warriors adorned their shields with depictions of animals. The concept behind this practice was that if a soldier perished in battle, their shield would be returned to their family as a symbol of their sacrifice. Over time, this concept evolved into a comprehensive heraldic system that gained widespread use during the feudal era of the Middle Ages. In the present day, heraldry finds its primary application in educational institutions and royal families across the globe.

This project pays tribute to the ancient Greeks by introducing a custom-made Greek alphabet and offers a heartfelt nod to the heraldry of the Middle Ages. It aims to create a contemporary framework and system for the development of new armorial bearings, bridging the rich historical legacy of heraldry with modern design principles.
