Sao Paulo 2020 Candidate City

São Paulo 2020
São Paulo Olympic City Candidate Proposal

São Paulo is both the name of a state, as well as, a city. Often overlooked for its rival, Rio, it is home to over 18 million people. Like Rio, there are many ethnic communities in São Paulo: Portuguese, Italian, German, Japanese, American, and some smaller communities such as Middle Eastern and French.

São Paulo is a community that has come into its own, and I felt that it could pose as an excellent Olympic City due to how vibrant the community is with respect to sports. Unlike many other nations, São Paulo has 3 football clubs! Not surprising, as it is the third largest city in the world. Which is also why it is able to host nearly 100,000 tradeshows and conferences every year.

The concept I propose:
"We are one". The visual identity represents the competitors placement in competition, showing that while there may be 1 standing atop the podium, the other competitiors should not be forgotten. As the Olympics represents the top of the mountain for many athletes, it also represents a moment where all athletes should be recognized for their effort.
