The Biennial of Contemporary Ekslibris is a cyclical event organized for 60 years at the Malbork Castle Museum, attracting artists and collectors from all over the world. As designers (we worked on the spatial concept of the exhibition in a design team with architect Łukasz Bugalski), we set ourselves the goal of guiding the recipient through the bookplate, which is the result of the work of a graphic artist. Therefore, we wanted to show the variety of artistic graphic techniques, thus raising awareness of this field in society. Therefore, we guide the visitor through linocut, copperplate and screen printing, showing the differences between these techniques.
The second topic that we wanted to highlight are the profiles of graphic designers who are part of the history of the biennial, such as Karol Śliwka or Alina Kalczyńska, showing that people stand behind the history of the event and such a great institution.
The project was carried out for the Castle Museum in Malbork.
The exhibition presented from June 5 to September 30, 2023.
As part of the project, a comprehensive graphic design was created, from the poster (also for the collectors' meeting), commercial prints, catalogue, exhibition navigation, to labels, legends and the smallest typography, which is an indispensable element of every exhibition project.

Biennale Ekslibrisu Współczesnego to cykliczna impreza organizowana od 60 lat w Muzeum Zamkowym w Malborku przyciągająca twórców i kolekcjonerów z całego świata. Jako projektanci (nad koncepcją przestrzenną wystawy pracowaliśmy w zespole projektowym z architektem Łukaszem Bugalskim) postawiliśmy sobie za cel poprowadzenie odbiorcy przez ekslibris, który jest efektem pracy artysty grafika. Chcieliśmy więc pokazać różnorodność technik grafiki artystycznej, podnosząc tym samym świadomość tej dziedziny w społeczeństwie. Oprowadzamy więc zwiedzającego po linorycie, miedziorycie czy sitodruku pokazując różnice pomiędzy tymi technikami.

Drugim tematem, który chcieliśmy wyeksponować to sylwetki twórców grafiki użytkowej będących częścią historii biennale, takich jak Karol Śliwka czy Alina Kalczyńska pokazując, że za historią imprezy i tak wielką instytucją stoją ludzie.

Projekt zrealizowany dla Muzeum Zamkowego w Malborku.

Wystawa prezentowana od 5 czerwca do 30 września 2023 roku.

W ramach projektu powstała kompleksowa oprawa graficzna od plakatu (również dla zjazdu kolekcjonerów), druków użytkowych, katalogu, nawigacji wystawy aż po etykiety, legendy i najdrobniejszą typografię będącą nieodzownym elementem każdego projektu wystawienniczego.
