White Snake is a new green-tea infused Sake, which is to be introduced to the Australian market. The manufacturer would like the bottle, label and packaging to communicate the quality and prestige of the high-end Sake product, as well as being uniquely Japanese. With traditional Kabuki theatre stories in mind, a “plot” was created with our heroine’s tragic yet superstitious life depicted through the images and colours portrayed on the packaging. The fox and snake illustration were hand-drawn using pencil and the cherry blossoms were carved and then printed from lino.
