QUT IMPACT LAB 2: PEOPLE
CONTEXT
Exploring the design process in order to develop a concept idea addressing the community or social issues.

PROJECT IMPACT
As team 10, we were tasked with designing a solution that will help increase the participation rates of young adults up to 50% within 12 months to use the recycling scheme within Queensland. Our design solution 'Sustaina-Swipe' implements a feature on the Containers for Change application that allows consumers to form teams to compete for a spot on a national leaderboard. These teams are then required to continue collecting containers to earn points, which can then be redeemed for rewards sourced by environmentally sustainable companies. We aimed to used intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to positively influence the target demographic to use the containers scheme. After three days of designing, my team and I were grateful to have the opportunity of presenting our idea to the amazing members of Containers for Change.
