Summary: Drift is a prebiotic soda crafted with adaptogenic ingredients that elicit positive mental and somatic states. Drift came to me for a full brand identity including naming, logo, packaging, and social media. They wanted packaging and branding that was fun, clean, and a little funky. In conversations with their team, we identified that they were inspired by the hippie movement of the 60's and 70's as well as by the modern focus on making healthy foods and beverages fun and enjoyable. With this in mind, I created a brand that references that vintage aesthetic, while keeping the brand very much rooted in the present day.​​​​​​​

I began my work on Drift by doing research into current soda brands in the health space and the hippie movements of the 60's and 70's.

With these references in mind, I began developing the foundations of the beverage brand. I started with their name, as it would influence everything downstream. After a lot of exploration, I ended up with the word 'Drift' - I felt it perfectly encapsulated the feeling of freedom, connection to nature, and peace that the brand represented. Next, I created a logo that felt retro and modern and came up with their tagline 'healthy gut, happy mind.' I then designed packaging that could be customized as they released new flavors.
Once the brand identity had been solidified, I created social assets that would capture the attention of their target demographic.
Finally, I created some merchandise for brand events and internal use.
