The Athenaeum
The brief:
The aim of this project is to reinvigorate the existing library by adding an additional function and accommodation, namely, changing its dynamics by introducing a Heritage Centre. It will refocus on Llanelli’s proud industrial past, keeping to the integrity imposed by its listing.

The design progresses through a sequence of threshholds i.e. an innovative C21 information centre which facilitates the needs of its residents and a newly created Heritage Centre which proudly showcases Llanelli's past.

The Learning Hub, Project Composition

The Brief:

To design a new learning environment to give most benefit to the teachers and students alike.

Research indicates that a creative environment can often enable students to focus for longer and also encourages them back into the classroom.

The Learning Hub responds to these criteria by challenging box-like geometry by turning it on a 45 degree axis. Zones are defined and engineered for specific needs, i.e. Individual rooms for individual learners, lecture theatre, social collaborative rooms that engage with creativity.

The Agricultural Ranch, Project Composition
The Brief:

The aim is to design a multi functional building that primarily facilitates a forward looking Farmers market with a difference.

The ambient feel of the design is an engineering one. The aim to create the sense of the original purpose of the building, with, for example, market tables, laid out to resemble the lines of railway tracks. The first and second floor also echo this linear effect. However, the centre is not an attempt to recreate the past but to reuse the space in an innovative way.

TY Nant 'Water Bar'
The Brief:
The Water Bar takes its inspiration from the Ty Nant bottle collection and endeavors to celebrate its unique brand and bottle design, using key features from each product to drive the design.
The bar comprises of three distinct functional zones, with each space reflecting its distinguishing features, and by extension creating a quirky but multifunctional space for customers to enjoy.
Ty Nant states, "It was always the intension to create a beautifully appealing product range with the highest quality natural mineral water." In essence, the aim of the Water Bar is to emulate the above, by providing a high quality product, experience and space.
