My Sketchbook - Volume 2

These are a bunch of random characters and creatures. Some very well known, some just off the top of my head. I like to try to vibe off of different styles and challenge myself to try to capture the right feel of that artist, property or reference.

Here are some portraits I did with color pencils and a bit of whiteout pen for the highlights. If you can't tell who these guys are then I didn't do a very good job. But "Use the Force" and I am sure it will come to you!
Here are a bunch of more random characters, some well known, but mostly originals. Some of these just came from my sketcbook and some were eventually used for tshirt designs.

Here are a few more portraits I did with color pencils and a bit of sharpee for the outlines. On the left are of course 2 members of the Rat Pack... Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra. On the right is the godfather of rock and roll...Chuck Berry. "Hail Hail Rock and Roll"

I often enjoy drawing from observation. It could be a cool landscape, or just a building I think could make an interesting drawing. Or, sometimes I'll just pause a movie with a cool shot or fantasy scene, then challnge myself to try to capture its composition and mood.

More random items from my sketchbook. I often enjoy figure drawing from live models and also live animal drawing at the zoo when ever possible. On the top right is a self-portrait paying tribute to one of my favorite artists, Josh Agle or better know as "SHAG" to his fans!
