There has been a long pause for me doing new projects.

I entered the new design festival in Copenhagen 3 Days of Design with the rest of the workshop crew at Byggeselskabet Maj (www.byggeselskabetmaj.dk). This gave me a deadline and pushed me to get some of my ideas realized.

This project portfolio is a collection of what I made and for this exhibition in May 2014.

Tired of the long and exhausting processes of trying to get stuff into production, and pissed off at the CEO of Ideacious for not refunding the pre-orderers, when the Timber table after all did not go into production, I chose to make my own micro production.

I will start small, and if some day thing go crazy and I can't keep up... I'll worry about that if it ever happens:-)

All the designs here I make myself and sell directly from our workshop in the old Nordhavn, Copenhagen.

I know it's a long project bundle, but I thought it was all somehow connected. My photographic

material is of mixed quality. I have put together the most clean photos I have here and will gather

some elaborating iphone pics in an appendix project. most photos here are taken by cabinet

CHOPSTICK

This sawhorse is made of laminated bamboo. Each sawhorse consists of four legs and one beam.

The parts are interlocking and holds together without fasteners.

All routing work is done by hand using templates. CNC would be practical, but I don't have direct acces to a CNC milling machine.

ARMADILLO

This table top is made of bamboo and ballistic kevlar.

I liked the idea of rollable table top. it has some plarctical advantages when it comes to storage, but most of all, I just liked the idea of this dual nature, being soft and bendable in one direction, and at the same time straight and rigid in the opposite.

The length of this table can be adjusted, simply by moving the sawhorses back and forth

LIGHT

A modular chandelier.

This lamp / chandelier consists of flourescent tubes with special fittings and ballast housings.

The fittings contain spherical magnets that shifts position according to the constellation of the tubes.

This is a combination of 3 60cm tubes and 3 90cm tubes.

higher in the middle you can see the harlequin shaped ballast.

inside the endpieces lies a spherical magnet.

TETRIS

The thought here is to have an extendable table top starting with the 2 blocks shown here.

Pulling the magnet-fitted blocks apart, you can insert an extra third block. Into infinity!

The shape is not random; it makes the snap lock possible,and also has a nice personality.

MONOLITH

Taking the idea of the TETRIS table top further, I tried to simplify the shape and minimize the number of different shapes. the material used is compact laminate (compressed paper) and PLA.

The more simple it becomes, the more complex it becomes as well. Finding the one shape that contains the most possibillities is more work than it might look like here, but I believe that esthetics often follows when you succeed in this.

DATA

This is a simple computer desk with removable tray. The box is made from one oak plank.

I have one in my apartment, and it serves its purpose excellently.

XYZ

This XYZ stool is a fusion of additive manufacturing and woodworking. My Ormerod 3D printerhas been working its ass off on this project.

This PLA mount holds together the three legs af the stool. It is locked

by asingle screw, tightening the mount to the legs.

A simple design, but I've put quite alot of work into it none the less. I have chosen to use PLA and so far it has proven up for the job. The mount really only holds the legs close to each other. as long as they are held together, the design is self supporting.

Stackabillity and the way it stacked was also important to me.
