WILD AFRICAN DOG

This is my school project for the Photoshop / Digital Imaging Workshop done in my first year.

We had to create a manipulation of a "Mechanimal" - which is an imaginative animal created from machanical parts. The objective of the project is to create images from concept to completion, to understand the basic of digital manipulation as well as to demonstrate the student's imaginative, creative, playful and artistic skills.

For this project, I have chosen to create the African Wild Dog. I have researched about their body, anatomy as well as their behavior throughout the project in order to recreate their original features.

In my work, i attempted to show the dog's wildness, ferociousness and their cautiousness. Moreover, some African symbols were also added on the body of the animal to relate to their originality. The chosen symbols was Bravery, Humility with Strength and Greatness.

Last but not least, I did not chose the African Wild Dog only for its exotic beauty, but also for the fact that the animal's life is being threatened by hunting, and in some areas, they are already close to extinction. It is very likely that in the near future, we will no longer see any real African Wild Dog, but see this mechanimals instead.
