I much prefer the light that happens before sunrise and after sunset. The colours you get in the sky and clouds are much more luminous and striking when compared to the harshness you get when the sun comes over the horizon. I always find that when the sun comes up I spend more time dealing with the shadows it causes than it's worth and in the end those are never my favourite shots.

 

Interesting story about this shot. After I finished shooting and left the location, not 5 mins later I actually crashed my car off the side of the road and ended up having to write it off. My little black Aygo is now in car heaven. Oh, I was fine by the way!
