Shining a light on the history of the Far North

Lampmaker Douglas Pearson and woodworker Stocky were looking to capture something of the colourful history of New Zealand’s Far North. Combining images of 19th and 20th century life in the region with the influences of Hawaiian shirt, we worked with Douglas on a range of household products that stayed true to the historic references we sourced and, at the same time, showed Far North life in an exciting new context.
