Client: Archevita, Středočeské muzeum v Roztokách u Prahy
Year: 2022

The exhibition space of the multimedia archaeological exhibition Archevita is located in Roztoky near Prague, on the premises of the Central Bohemian Museum which also happens to be the site of a medieval archaeological find. The exhibition immerses the visitor in the period from the Early Stone Age all the way through to the Early Middle Ages. It was necessary to create a visual identity for the unique exhibition. One which can communicate comprehensively with visitors of preschool and school age, as well as with experts who are professionally involved in archaeology. The unified visual style places emphasis on the connection between the present and the past. The main element of Archevita’s visual style is the custom-drawn font in Regular font style. The Archevita font is an open grotesque which takes inspiration from prehistoric drawings and incorporates key elements of the development of writing - one example of this is the inverted alternative character of the letter “A” which symbolises a bull. The typography is complemented by a varied set of pictograms, which also function as independent illustrations accompanying the entire visual communication of the exhibition.
