Award winning soundscape composition in the 2011 Joensuu Soundscape Competition, Popkatu Festival 2011."The Douro-A giver of life" is a composition of field recordings captured along the Douro river, in the Iberian peninsula. This work intends to portrait the journey of the river through sound, since its source in Picos de Urbion, in Spain, until its estuary in the cities of Porto and V.N.Gaia in the North of Portugal. This composition was difused through 100 speakers in the city of Joensuu, Finland.
