Corrido del Oso
Fall 2008 UNM Urban Design Studio
The design for this narrow infill site in downtown Albuquerque is engaged through a series of contrasting concepts and elements.  It activates the transition from a larger, more open public space north of the site, to that of an intimately-scaled neighborhood with an inviting area for the community to gather, sit, walk, eat and talk.

The terraced lawn spaces are an open canvas for people to relax or play upon.  The water feature provides a soothing aural backdrop, while the bronze bear at the Gold St. entrance is a friendly icon, symbolic of the natural world within the urban environment.
