“(I) Recollect. Process of process“. Part 1

“(I) Recollect. Process of Process“ is my final BA work (2014, graphics). Here I'm showing one part of it called “(I) Recollect“.
The theme of my work is memory and first recollections. Work consists of two complementary parts – paper installation (book-object) “(I) Recollect“ and book „Process of Process“, in which I review theme of memory and creative process of “(I) Recollect“.
Then creating these works simultaneously I was interested not only in memory theme, but also in process of recollection, the ability to remember, fragmentation of memories and instability, fragility and transparency. And also, how could I show it in paper. I decided to narrow my theme and then creating lean on first most unstable recollections. As raw material I used my own first recollections. But the purpose of it was not to show my memories or reproduce them, but to look for ways how to show the feeling of memory, or to awoke memories of the viewer.
Paper installation “(I) Recollect“ is the emotional part of work, which could stimulate the feeling of memory to viewer. It is like a labyrinth of memories, with little texts – stimulus for the viewer’s memory. For this work I used ink on rice paper, the process of painting with ink reminds process of recollection – continual, shifting recurrence. Then creating I used the principle of monotype, on paper “cliché” I poured my motive (it’s like an event, which I will recollect later) and then I would fold the rice paper few times on it, which would soak with ink and became the current result (like a memory, which is constantly recollected and every time shifts a little bit, loses its details). The motives of my ink drawings came from my personal memory, but they are quite abstract and might recall memories from viewers past.
