Visual identity for village tunes (a music blog based on youtube) consisting mainly on an icon set to be overlaid on each video.

The look of the icons was dictated by the villages of Iceland and Greenland and their still, isolated worlds.
Being the most important aspect of what the blog represents, music was set as a big part of the identity too.

The circle of fifths and a grid based on a music sheet served as foundations to create the framework for the placement of the houses in the video template.

A dynamic system that can generate countless villages (gatherings of houses) was created by varying the five house group in display and the starting pitch ,which informs the position of the first house.

Finally, there was still the need for a typographic system that didn't clash with the icon work.

Also strongly based on the schemes of music notation, another dynamic method was defined by assigning a pitch to each character of the alphabet and varying only its octave on the music sheet grid.
