ARECHI | wine brand

A WINE FIT FOR A PRINCE.

Tenute Malgieri is a winery based in Montesarchio, near Benevento. For over 50 years the company has been producing red and rosé wines (Aglianico) and white wine (Falanghina).
Arechi wines were first launched in 2010. Their name refers to a historical figure of medieval Campania (Arechi II, lombard duke and prince of Benevento) and expresses the excellent quality of these products.
Inspiration and design process.

The brand is made up of two main elements:  a logotype and an illustration.
The whole design process was heavily inspired by medieval art and actual depictions of Arechi II: his effigy engraved on an ancient coin served as the main reference for the illustration on the label, while the logotype was inspired by letters on an illuminated manuscript.

Colors of grapes (especially blue-violet, which is typical of the Aglianico variety) inspired the brand palette.
The use of different colors distinguish the three labels and packages: blue-violet was assigned to red wine, mauve to rosé wine and a greenish grey to white wine.
The product.

Consumers can choose a special packaging which comprises a cardboard box and a bi-fold brochure which shows the wines currently produced by Tenute Malgieri.
