During this project, I created an app to solve a problem. The problem I chose to focus on was the underrepresentation of BIPOC in the media. The app aims to highlight BIPOC representation in different areas of media such as TV shows, movies, shows, books, and music.
To start the process of creating the app, I wrote a proposal that included the preliminary research and goals of the app as well as additional research using the SWOT analysis and content analysis methods. After that using the insights I collected I created user flows and wireframes for the onboarding tasks. I used these as a baseline for the rest of the app, I then designed and prototyped the app. It is still a work in process but for now, I have prototyped the onboarding tasks, the home, search, and discussion tabs. During this process, I conducted several sessions of usability testing and wrote usability reports. All in all, I will continue to work on this project to improve features and usability.
